Description
Really cool example of an English export grade pistol aka “boot pistol” with 5.5” barrel, percussion ignition and unusual swivel ramrod assembly. This weapon surfaced in an estate sale in Charleston, SC, where it was found while cleaning out the attic of an antebellum home. It has no maker name but does have Birmingham proof marks which date its manufacture circa 1850-1860. The fine grain checkered maple grip has a German silver endcap with presentation plate on the bottom but no name or monogram is present.
