Description

This old 1790-1805 era flintlock is of the type often manufactured in Turkey for Balkan area use.  It is a large frame single shot flintlock with an elaborate butt cap as shown and came out of a defunct VFW hall in the midwest-has to be an interesting tale there!  Weapons such as this were often found in North Africa even during the WW2 era and many were actually still being used by natives.  Missing the sideplate escutcheon as shown.
