Description
This is a beautiful example of the standard issue Federal arsenal artillery shell jacket for a sergeant of artillery. Note that the chevrons are sewn in the sleeve itself, only done at arsenals. Artillery shell jackets were pre-packed with 12 jackets–9 plain, one musician, one corporal and one sergeant. This example shows very light use, has a full lining, all original buttons, bright crimson red piping and a clear arsenal mark in the upper sleeve area. It has a few loose seams (from age) but on a one to ten scale, this is easily a solid 9.5 and near impossible to upgrade from.
