Description
Unfortunately this fine and rare coat has no identification as to the wartime owner, but it is a stunning example of the double breasted line officer coats of the Civil War. All buttons are original to the piece and on a one to ten scale, it is an easy 9 for overall condition. The polished cotton green lining is near flawless and there are only minor insect nips here and there. It would be a fine addition to any collection of Civil War uniforms and would be a centerpiece in a cavalry themed display.
It is adorned with beautifully gilt staff US officer buttons, the original New York clothier tag and even has a pair of white parade gloves tucked inside the pocket.
