Description

Fresh out of an old collection in Georgia, this little gem has the unmistakable inverted “Z” stamp in the barrel indicating it was received at the Richmond Arsenal for repair!  The lock is dated 860, showing that it was manufactured in 1860.

This model doesn’t have the left side cheek piece that are on most of the model 1858 Austrian patterns and was preferred by Confederate infantry for the relative light weight, incredible accuracy and ease of loading.

It has been cleaned, likely in the 1960s era, when that was the thing to do.  Other than missing the ramrod, it is complete and original in all respects and a VERY difficult weapon to find on the collector market.
