Description

Early Ames M1860 cavalry enlisted swords are not that easy to find anymore!  This is an honest used example with no replaced parts, original grip and wire wrap, and clear markings.  The Model 1860 was the most commonly used sabre in the field from 1861-1865 and they were made by several different companies.  The premiere maker was Ames of Chicopee, Massachusetts.  Very solid, honest sword.
