Description
This is a very solid example of the standard .577 caliber rifled musket manufactured in England and exported to the Confederacy in 1862. It has strong and visible inspector marks of the Sinclair Hamilton Company which were the primary export agents to the Confederacy from 1861 until 1863.
This example is in honest condition overall, free of major defects, has clear markings overall and a tight action—the bore is decent, clearly showing evidence of field firing! This is a necessary weapon in any quality Civil War collection and honest examples like this are not easy to locate anymore. This weapon surfaced in an estate sale near Columbia, South Carolina just a few weeks ago!
