Description

Nice example of a popular Civil War era factory engraved revolver known as a “Pepperbox” due to the cylinders being the barrels, too!  These simple double action bar hammer percussion weapons eliminated the problems of cross chamber ignition as suffered by early Colt revolvers, but were a bit heavy.  Chambered in .31 percussion, many private soldiers carried one of these six-shooters tucked in their belts or boot tops for protection–and used by both sides, North and South.
