Description
This fine condition original Civil War longarm is a .58 caliber Lamson, Goodnow & Yale contract Special Model 1861 single-shot percussion muzzleloader in very good to fine overall condition. The rifled musket, one of only a few types made with a steel barrel, was a product of the firm of E.G. Lamson, A. F. Goodnow, and B. B. Yale with forging facilities at Windsor, Vermont and machine shops in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts. Fifty thousand LG&Y longarm muzzleloaders were produced by the firm during the years 1862 thru 1864. They are known for their high quality finish and craftsmanship. Bore is near fine and action is flawless. Investment and museum grade weapon.
