This is a stunning example of the swords marketed by Tomes Sons & Melvain of New York City from 1859-1864. It is a silver hilt with a spectacular gold washed, frosted blade adorned with “US” and eagle motifs. The scabbard mounts are high profile repousse and the overall condition is EXCELLENT! Fine grade item fit for any upscale collection! The blade was manufactured in Solingen, Germany by the premier maker, Clauberg.
