Description
Austrian Rifle dated 1860 (“860” on lock), incorrect ramrod, missing rear sight, incorrect front nosecap, old wood repair to buttstock on right side as shown. This item just surfaced from an estate sale in Madison County, NC, with a history of having been used at the “massacre.” Overall very deep brown patina and action works. Caliber .58. This model has NO cheek piece in the left hand buttstock. Likely Confederate used weapon at a bargain price.
