Description
Fine example of the standard Civil War surgeon’s sword as manufactured from around 1859 to mid-1863 by William Horstmann of Philadelphia. Unmolested, uncleaned and just as found in a Massachusetts estate–but unfortunately, no hint of history as to whom it belonged. Crisp, frosty etching on both sides and a wonderful gilt plated brass scabbard. Not one you can improve on very much and priced well below typical retail.
