Description
Standard ammunition box for the .69 caliber minie or musket ball cartridge, M1855 type, with US oval filled plate on flap. Manufactured by R. Nece of Philadelphia circa 1861-1862. No tins. It is important to note that soldiers in the field often removed the tins for faster access to ammunition in combat.
