Description
Nice example of an officer grade spadroon made in the form of Emmor T. Weaver of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania circa 1805-1810. “Sheffielded” gilt over brass as common with his work. Very bright 28.5 inch blade has scattered thin pin type scroll and floral hand engraving, as does the scabbard. Very good condition overall. Swords like this saw later service in many militias during the Seminole, Mexican and Civil Wars.
