Description
This is an attic condition factory mold for the Colt Model 1849 pocket model .31 percussion revolver. The iron types are generally considered to be late antebellum through the end of the Civil War years. It is a dual cavity type which will cast a round or conical projectile. It is marked near the top Colt’s Patent (but is totally untouched–if you want to see it better, you will have to clean it–easily done with crocus cloth and some oil). Fully functional and fresh from an estate collection in New York.
