This is a fantastic example of the US sword issued in the field in 1843. Manufactured by N.P. Ames of Springfield, Massachusetts under direct military contract, these weapons saw extensive use in both the Mexican and Civil Wars. It is as “unmolested” as they ever come and overall, the rig is in near EXCELLENT original condition. The US two piece buckle is original to the belt and has never been cleaned or modified in any manner. If you want one of the best, look no further.
