Description
Very solid overall example of the .69 smoothbore musket heavily used in both the Mexican and Civil Wars. This weapon has a very nice overall patina and exceptional wood. It functions perfectly and has the original trumpet shaped head ramrod. These weapons were a standard with Civil War infantry troops both North and South, and many scores of hundreds were in the South at the outbreak of the Civil War. Known to pack a whallop using “buck and ball,” the weapons were beyond deadly at ranges under 100 yards. All original in every respect, and “keeper” grade.
