Description
Beautiful example of the standard officer frock coat circa 1863 with fine gilt eagle “I” buttons. One button on the front is not attached but it was found inside the breast pocket. The lining is green polished cotton and the sleeve lining is a plain brown muslin. It doesn’t appear to have ever had straps sewn on, which is common for officers in the field since the straps made them better targets! The frock shows light use and wear overall and has minimal insect damage. Very inexpensive example that you can put your own straps of choice on for display!
