Description
Very honest and original Confederate Blockade Runner import Enfield rifled musket, caliber .577. as imported mid-1861 by the Confederacy. This well used example is complete other than missing the rear sight (which was soldered on), common with many. It bears the clear export mark of Sinclair, Hamilton and Company in the buttstock, verifying its Southern purchase.
This particular gun surfaced in central Virginia in the late 1980s in a family estate with no known history. It clearly has seen the elephant but still retains a strong rifled bore and the action is crisp and strong.
This is one of the most inexpensive CONFEDERATE infantry weapons you will likely ever find–dead real and honest all the way through!
