Description
This is one tired old war horse just as found in an estate in eastern NC where it had sat for many decades. It is technically a Model 1854 Austrian Rifle in .58 caliber that has clearly been heavily used in the field. It is functional and the ramrod has been with it a very long time, but is not an original to the pattern. I classify this one as an inexpensive, dead real wall hanger! The lock date is mostly illegible but likely 1860.
