Description
Very rare set of original officer shoulder epaulettes which comply with the regulations for the US Army from 1841 to 1858 (silver bar with gold fringed bullion). The undersides are of a very fine grade yellow silk and there is no damage other than honest age and field wear. Epaulettes such as these are classified as antebellum, meaning they could easily have been used in the Civil War by Southern officers or by Northern Militia units early in the War. Fine condition overall.
