Description
This is a very nice condition Richmond .58 infantry rifle musket assembled at the Richmond Armory in 1863. It has all the correct features including the offset āUā band alignment markings. The brass buttplate was recycled from a M1855 Rifle or Rifle Musket, typical for this facility (who recycled many parts of weapons to craft the ones issued). It was once in the collection of Fred Edmunds who owned the Confederate States Armory Museum in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and has been off the market for close to 20 years. If you want a very clean example of this scarce weapon, look no further!
