Description

Crisp tintype of J.H. Aldro, Company E, 2nd Massachusetts Artillery.  Aldro died at New Bern, NC, in 1864 during the Yellow Fever epidemic.  The 6th plate image is in a superb gutta percha patriotic case made by L.P. & Company (Littlefield, Parsons & Co.).  His regimental unit is clearly visible on the top of his forage cap.
