Description

One of the most impressive and massive standard pattern swords issued to the Union cavalry, this is a very strong and untouched example of the workhorse of the Union cavalry during the Civil War. All grip leather is remaining, although scuffed in places, as is the original wire wrap. Markings are clear and crisp. Roby had several contracts for the swords and manufactured them in Chelmsford, Massachusetts from 1861 to 1865.
