Description

This old weapon turned up in an estate near Spokane, Washington, with no known history.  It is a legitimate example of a Birmingham Small Arms weapon and the barrel was made by the London Armory Company (L.A.C. marked on barrel) whose entire production output was sold to the Confederacy from 1861 until 1863.

It is likely stocked by London Armory as well as they were the only manufacturers who used round ended side lock washers instead of square.  The major flaw is that it is missing the rear sight, as shown.

The action of the gun is strong but the hammer assembly often snags when being cocked—it will fire, but needs some attention to work as designed.

This is a prime example of a Confederate Blockade Run weapon that was used in the field of battle and then travelled west after the War—it is also priced well below market for what it is.
