Description
One of the more unique looking and difficult to obtain handguns of the Civil War, this Savage revolver is chambered in .36 caliber and is able to function in both single and double action modes. This action is a little sluggish but may benefit from a good cleaning and lubrication as it has been in the same family for many decades and only recently entered the collector market. Overall, markings are strong and crisp and the weapon has a gray-brown age patina. This particular weapon was manufactured in mid-1861.
