Description
This is a solid example of the standard infantry weapon known as either the M1863 Type II or the Model 1864. It is a standard .58 bore and shows serious field use and wear but retains a decent bore. The ramrod is an oddity—looks like something a skirmisher would use—and the bottom of the buttstock has been modified to make it a bit more hefty than the original. The US Springfield markings are clear on the lockplate but the date is not visible (almost has to be 1864). Great price for an original weapon for display or use.
