Description
Just as honest as they come, this is a fine Southern blacksmith manufactured massive bowie knife with a 12.25″ clip point blade (overall length about 17″) with the original tin mounted leather sheath. The sheath is both sewn and reinforced with LEAD rivets (a few missing as you can see). The knife itself has a cast lead bolster making this knife not only totally unique, but a very handsome weapon to display. It is extremely sharp and there are no major defects visible. The grip likewise is tight to the blade and has no damage or defects worth mentioning. This is a fine example of a fighting sideknife that surfaced in an Alabama estate decades ago and originally marketed by the noted Civil War dealer R.E. Neville.
