Description
Relatively scarce pre-1880 Cavalry shako hat with full cording and insignia for Company A, 3rd Cavalry. Includes original pom-pom. This is a transitional style hat which came after the civil War but well prior to the regulations published in 1872. The leather body has a few cracks and chips as shown, but overall is very sound. A rare piece of Indian Wars era history.
