Description
Museum grade example of the US Model 1860 Light Cavalry Union enlisted pattern sabre as manufactured by Mansfield and Lamb of Forestdale, Rhode Island, in 1864. This sword has a very fine blade with crisp impressed markings and retains the original leather wrist strap, neatly and crisply stamped by the manufacturer, E. Gaylord of Chicopee, Massachusetts. Full original wire and leather grip, too–a centerpiece in any Civil War edged weapons display.
