Description
This is a very nice overall light cavalry sabre complete with full original leather grip wrap, wire and scabbard. The blade is a dull silvery gray overall and the tip is nice and pointed. All markings are strong and clear. It is getting very difficult to find unmolested examples of pre-1864 Ames cavalry swords and this one came from a collection that started in 1951! It hasn’t ever been on the collector market since then.
