Description
This is a Clauberg (Solingen, Germany) imported Civil War era Cavalry officer pattern sword often associated with imports by Tiffany and Company of New York in 1861. It is all iron mounted and the blade is adorned with beautiful motifs of the US eagle and similar scrollwork. The blade is so crisp it is difficult to photograph! Swords such as this were often carried by Infantry officers as well in the field. A must for any Civil War sword collector, and investment grade.
