Description
At the outbreak of WWII in Europe, Bulgaria aligned with the Nazi Germans and copied most of their military equipment. This helmet was a WWII GI war trophy sent back in 1945, captured by a soldier in Germany. During the War, Bulgaria ultimately sided with Russia and switch to communism. Most of the original gear was abandoned and the crests removed.
The Bulgarian M36 helmet (in Bulgarian: Каска М36) was the basic helmet of the Bulgarian Army prior to the outbreak of World War II and during the Bulgarian participation in the war.
