Description

Very honest little boot or muff type personal defense pistol, original percussion, about .50 caliber. Hollis was a master gunsmith in England from 1790 to 1850 and made this weapon circa 1840-1850. This type of pistol was heavily exported and many were carried by Mexican War and Civil War soldiers as a personal backup defense weapons. This example surfaced in an estate sale in rural Buncombe County, NC, earlier this year.
