Description
Fresh from an Ohio estate, this fine canteen retains its full blue cover (similar to homespun jeans cloth instead of the far more common wool) and a very rare accessory: the leather cavalry mount strap. It is missing the stopper and chain assembly. A connecting link has been added at some point in time and the canteen was used with it, perhaps during westward expansion days. Tough pattern to find!
