Description

This is a near mint condition WW2 Nazi General Army tunic in beautiful condition overall, and very rare to find!  Here is the original description given by a well known professional militaria dealer in that field about five years ago:

“Lightly worn service blouse for a Heer Generalleutnant, body constructed of a high quality thick wool trikot, blouse with dark green badge cloth stand and fall collar, five button front, four pleated patch pockets and turn back buffs, with lining of dark green colored ribbed rayon, there are two internal pockets, tailor and name labels do not look to have ever been applied, having an internal dagger hanger, all gilt pebbled buttons are Assmann marked and look to be originally sewn, insignia includes collar patches having hand embroidery in gilt wires on red wool and these are hand sewn to the collar, having a matched pair of sewn in shoulder boards, each with one large pip, the hand embroidered General’s rank gilt bullion national emblem is hand applied, on the left breast there are four pairs of loops, three for badges and one set for a long ribbon bar plus a pair of embroidered eyelets for another badge, there are also a set of loops for one badge on the right breast, garment exhibits minor service use with light age and soiling, with the exception of some fraying at the buttonholes and a couple of small stains, it shows no damage, includes a marked celluloid collar liner and a reproduction ribbon bar, blouse is unattributed and ownership can be documented to the 1980s.”
