Description

Often called a briquet or hanger, this short but stout blade was used by both infantry and artillery units in Europe from 1814 to 1860 and many were imported into the US in the early Civil War years.  The blade is near mint and the scabbard is fine (note an old repair near the drag as shown).  Marked on spine as a product of Manufacture de Châtellerault
