Description
Decent example of the standard M1858 Hardee pattern hat retaining the original glossy paper maker label in the top of the crown. This is an original Civil War Hardee in better than average condition overall. There are age cracks and openings as shown which can either be repaired or backed with dark fabric—most brim repairs use “invisible thread” to secure the wool felt as it becomes brittle with age. Some of the insignia has been replaced so this one is BARGAIN priced—looks great in any display.
