Description
This is a very solid example of a relatively scarce weapon as manufactured by Colt for the US Government in 1864. The “Special” models were unique in that the barrels were an early version of stainless steel.
Chambered in the standard .58 caliber for infantry, this example is in very good overall condition, but missing the original ramrod.
