Description
Very nice 1862-1864 Captain of Infantry officer frock coat fresh from an estate sale in Maryland. The coat retains the original lined shield US Staff Officer buttons and line officer rank straps but unfortunately the history of the owner is not known. Overall exterior condition is fine with only minor insect damage and typical wear and stains from actual field use. The lining is present but a bit shaggy and could use some minor work. Overall, an inexpensive example of the standard uniform of a Yankee infantry officer from 1861-1865 who may have held a position such as adjutant or a similar staff grade appointment.
