Description
This is a great companion set of images–a dashing young Union enlistedman and his girl or sister to the left, wearing a Zouave type jacket. The hard rubber case was manufactured by Littlefield, Parsons and Company and known as the celebrated UNION CASES with the embracing riveted hinge, patented in 1856 and 1857. The full maker label is inside. Overall the images are about 1 7/8″ x 2 3/8″ each or ninth plates. Fresh from a New England estate, but no identification inside.
