Description
This is an ultra rare original Civil War era leather neck collar as worn by US Marines from the 1790s until around 1875 (and from where their nickname comes from). The device, intended to not only to keep a Marine looking SHARP (posture), was primarily used as a defensive item to ward off sword slashes to the neck! The item is 100% original and authentic and with the type of roller buckle, dead on Civil War era (Model 1859). If you want that Civil War item NOBODY else has, look no farther!
