Description
This is a very difficult firearm to obtain as fewer of this model were produced when compared to the big brother, the .44 Army type. This example has a strong action, strong markings and a unique carving in the left grip that appears to be a Confederate battle flag. Serial #4062 makes the production date 1861 (they were only produced from 1861 to 1863, quantity about 14,500 total). Many of these weapons went South before Lincoln declared the arms embargo. This is a very well balanced weapon and a perfect fit into any Civil War collection.
