Description
This is a fine and prime example of the field worn Hardee enlistedman hat complete with all original trimmings! It is an easy 9+ on a 10 scale and was once in the incredibly fine collection of Dr. and US Army General Edward R. Burka of Maryland. From notes found, it was purchased in the 1980s from well known Civil War dealer James “Jimmy” Frasca of Ohio.
The sweatband is a fine russet leather and unlike most known examples, the top of the crown is free of cracks. The reinforced stitching around the edge of the brim is in excellent repair as well.
