Description

This large heavy cavalry weapon, originally designed in 1836 in flintlock, was still being used in the field at the time of the Civil War.  This example surfaced in an estate sale outside Amarillo, Texas with no associated known history other than it had been in the family “forever.”  When found, it was missing the loading lever assembly and hammer screw but it still functioned properly.  All markings are clear and the action is strong and crisp. Overall it is a flawless attic brown color overall and if it could tell you where it had been and what it saw—wow!  I located a reproduction loading lever assembly and it is included with the weapon.  Bargain priced for a solid piece of western Americana.
