Description
One of those rare ones that shows plenty of field use and also battle damage! This old war horse has been shot so much the muzzle end got about worn through, as shown in the images. The left buttstock has a long crease that could only have been made by a splattering minie ball or piece of shrapnel. All parts are correct including the brass buttplate and Richmond made ramrod, which has lead filler in the tip of the cone. Once in the collection of Fred Edmunds (Confederate States Armory Museum, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania) this old gem has been off the market for over 25 years
