Very seldom encountered accoutrement with a clear Philadelphia Navy Yard 1861 stamping inside–the outer flap is embossed USN but is weak from use and wear. Original tins are present. The inner cap box compartment retains the original wool lining. First one we have seen on the open market in two decades. Supple and solid overall but with surface cracking as shown. This is a perfect companion for your M1842 Navy Boxlock single shot pistol.
