Description

Nice Civil War era officer frock coat with staff type US eagle buttons and Captain of Infantry straps.  Name inside is A.S. Newlin (only one in any database).  Shows normal field wear with minor insect damage and a few picks and pulls, but overall very solid.  Very heavy padding and quilting inside body.

Enlisted on 7/28/1862 as a 2nd Lieutenant.

On 7/28/1862 he was commissioned into "C" Co. PA 114th Infantry 
He was Mustered Out on 5/29/1865 at Arlington Heights, VA
 (Subsequent service in US Army from 02/23/1866 until 
 his death)
