Description
Really well made fighting knife made from a WW1 era German sword by Alex Copple. Etching visible near tip. Sheath and throg appears to be from a dress K98 Mauser type bayonet/dagger. Sideknives were not issued in the German Army so soldiers often made do with whatever was available! Original grip covering and wire, too–and a unique, one of a kind battlefield item fresh from a local estate of a GI who served in Italy and Germany 1944-1945. Brought home as a trophy of war.
