Description
Fine little pocket revolver chambered in .32 rimfire as manufactured under the Smith and Wesson Patent in Worcester, Massachusetts circa 1863. The Pond Revolver was considered a patent infringement under the Rollin White Patent with Smith and Wesson so by court ruling, all weapons made after a certain date (approximately 4,500 of them) had to be stamped with Smith and Wesson information as well. These weapons were heavily carried by New England Civil War soldiers throughout the War and favored by many officers, as the cartridges were waterproof and no percussion cap was required.
